See what my lovely human clients say...

Jack

"I didn’t realise how bad Jack had become until we had a couple of occasions where he totally lost it being near other dogs. I became very worried about meeting other dogs with him and felt I couldn’t 'snap him out of it’. Wendy was so helpful in explaining what Jack was thinking and feeling and helped to explain that Jack was confused about who the leader was (he had sadly lost both his previous owners to cancer). As soon as we worked towards these leadership skills he became calmer in the home and on walks. My confidence has increased massively and I will continue the skills to aim to take him anywhere and everywhere again. Thank you so much Wendy." Emma & Jack

Dee Dee

"We contacted Wendy at jump4joy as our labradoodle is reactive to other dogs and people. As owners we had also lost confidence and we were not enjoying our walks. Over our 3 121 sessions with Wendy we got a much better understanding of Deedee’s behaviour and tasks to give us the tools to change this . Our confidence has grown and Deedee is definitely calmer . I am starting to like walking again." Cherrie & Deedee

Winston

"Our dog is a ball of energy that would knock people over when they walked through the door and would pull us relentlessly on walks. Now, we know how to calm him down, he focuses on us when we talk to him and sits in his bed and waits to be released before he can say hello to guests. Our walks are less dragging and more walking beside us and he has come a long way in a very short amount of time thanks to Wendy and her approach. We know we have to carry on with his training at home for it to be engrained but we are incredibly thankful for the help and support Wendy gave us when we felt like giving up." Courtney & Winston

Twizzle

"I have just completed 3 sessions with Wendy regarding my dog’s aggression to moving traffic. I found Wendy had a real understanding of dogs and my problem, and I am now walking along main roads with a dog that is focusing on me and not the traffic. I would encourage anyone having dog behavioural issues to contact Wendy. Her sessions were amazing." Christine & Twizzle

Sadie

"Wendy has been a fantastic puppy trainer for us and our young cocker spaniel Sadie. Over the last few months, we started with the one-on-one training sessions at home then attended the 5 Week Training Programme. From the first one-on-one training session, which we had prior to our first puppy class, Wendy created a great bond with Sadie and got to know us and our routines. We could not believe how quickly Wendy managed to get Sadie to focus on her with a combination of clear techniques which helped us to accelerate Sadie’s development and improve behaviour around the home. The puppy classes were fantastic and by doing the one-on-one training with Wendy first and getting Sadie and ourselves familiar with the techniques, we were able to practice with distractions that the small group classes provided with the other puppies (all of which came so far over the 5 week classes). We really enjoyed learning from Wendy and it was clear how passionate she is and how much she cares about the puppies. Sadie was always very excited to see her and we really appreciate all of the help and advice from Wendy. Thank you and an easy 5 stars!!!" Luke & Sadie

Godfrey

"Wendy has been training our Jack Russell puppy and it’s been brilliant. We’ve both learned such a lot and it’s been great fun to do. I’m so glad we started at his young age (10 weeks) too. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a puppy." Sally & Godfrey

Poppy Barker

"Wendy has given us many techniques in the 1-1 training sessions to help with our dog's reactivity. Poppy is a one year old very high energy, excitable dog that feels the need to be constantly on guard. We have learnt how to get her to focus more on us and how to become more confident leaders. We now have the knowledge in what to do in certain situations that triggers her reactions." Sue & Poppy

Stanley

"Myself and my boyfriend came to Wendy’s classes with our cocker spaniel puppy. Prior to starting he didn’t really know much, or follow many commands. Over the 5 weeks, using the techniques taught to us by Wendy, Stanley has earned so much! He loved going to the classes, it was great for him to be able to socialise with dogs, and it was nice that it was in small groups of 6 so that it wasn’t too overwhelming for the dogs either. I would recommend Wendy to people in the future" :)

Tilly - Catalina

"Wendy has really helped me with my very anxious, reactive Romanian rescue. With her support and advice, I feel I have a much better understanding of Tilly, and why she reacts as she does. Wendy has given me loads of tips and games to play with Tilly that have really helped in teaching her focus and calm. It's an ongoing process but thanks to Wendy I can see real improvement in Tilly's reactivity and I feel much more confident as a dog owner. I would happily recommend Wendy for any dog behaviour or training advice" Catalina & Tilly

Gus

"We would 110% recommend Wendy. We were struggling with our puppy's separation anxiety and my partner had been sleeping on the sofa since we got him! After just one home visit we noticed such a difference and my partner managed to get back up to bed for the first time in 6 weeks! She also gave us some great tips for toilet training which have been such a help (especially when it's raining) and I'm also now able to work upstairs and leave him downstairs without him crying and howling. We have a totally different dog! Thanks again Wendy" Kerry & Gus

Barney

"Wendy was an amazing lady that helped us train our 1 year old Labrador. She showed us how to use certain techniques to train him. Without her help, we would still be struggling. Barney is much calmer and that makes everyday life easier for us. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs help with some doggy training. Thank you Wendy, without your help our lives would be so different. And Barney says thanks for all treats he earned from you." Julie & Barney

Ted

"Very happy with how quickly Wendy replied to my enquiry regarding training our dog, she called and arranged a date to meet our family. Wendy's first visit was very relaxed and she observed our dog and gave us some simple fun techniques to help gain Ted's confidence. Wendy sent us videos and written tasks to follow which helped us all....asking for feedback throughout the week. Wendy ensured us all that if we kept up the training when she was away we would soon see results... which we have, our dog is a lot less anxious and his barking is under control. I've already recommended her to another family." Jackie & Ted

sausage dogs

"Wendy came to see us with a troublesome male sausage dog, eating wood was his favourite which meant our table and skirting board suffered. Wendy met with us 3 times, and identified that boredom was the problem, he is wired up differently to our female sausage and Wendy showed us different ways to beat the boredom. Wendy is lovely, supportive, and knowledgeable. I would recommend her and have done to others - thank you Wendy".

Cassie

"We have a 20-month-old ShihTzu called Cassie. She is such a good little puppy except for her excessive behaviour towards people and dogs. If anyone comes towards her, she will lunge and start excessively barking at them. Once they pass, she will stop and carry on walking. We got her at the end of 2020 during the pandemic so we could not socialise her properly. When I saw Wendy's puppy classes advertised, I wanted to give them a go. The classes were great fun and after six weeks we were starting to get Cassie focussed on us and she was learning the sit and wait command really well, which helped us to communicate with her. Wendy was really patient, but we could both see it was going to take a lot more training, so I approached Wendy about 1-1 Behaviour training. This way Wendy could assess Cassie in her own environment. She would also bark excessively at anyone who enters the house, but after the first session, Cassie was allowing Wendy to sit and talk to us and was even taking treats from her which was amazing! We are working on the mat technique whilst eating our food which is going really well. The house visits are something I would recommend. We also met with Wendy recently at a coffee shop, to help us get Cassie used to people and dogs whilst we sit and try to enjoy our coffee! This was really helpful as we were shown what to do and how to react, so we are using these techniques every time we go out and sit somewhere. I felt so confident with Cassie whilst Wendy was with us, and I feel even more confident now when I am out with her in public places. You have to remember that once you are given the tools and shown what to do, you need to use these tools all the time because that is what gets the results you are looking for! Wendy is such a lovely person and has been so patient with Cassie. She is really dedicated and so far, the reward we are getting from Cassie is something I am so grateful to Wendy for. The training is ongoing, but I know with Wendy's help and support we will get there with Cassie. We are looking forward to our next session, but for now, I would like to say a personal thank you to Wendy for the way she has helped both Cassie and myself, and I would be happy to recommend Jump 4 Joy to anyone who needs help with their little pooch!"

Merlin

"Wendy has quite literally changed our lives with her techniques for training and calming our dog, we can now actually enjoy time together without being jumped on or mouthed at. Her immediate bond with our puppy was great and she definitely picks up on any little behaviour (both ours and the dogs!) that causes issues and gives helpful solutions. We can't recommend Wendy enough!!" Daisy & Merlin

Poppy

"Hi Wendy, I thought I will share something with you, just to say how much your training is working. I can't believe it! So yesterday we sat at the table and had our dinner, and what a difference in Poppy's behaviour. I brought her bed close to the table and was giving her treats and asked her to stay in her bed while we were eating. It was the most peaceful dinner we ever had with Pops. Back in December in my mum's home, she was going crazy jumping on us on our laps when we were eating every time. But yesterday she just calmly went to bed and waited for a snack. She walked out a few times from bed but then went back again. Thank you again Wendy, you did magic on Poppy!"

Honey & Heidi

"What a huge difference Wendy has made to my two Dachshunds. Wendy shows passion for her clients' dogs and patience for their owners. Our two dogs are much more relaxed and love their training tasks which Wendy sets for them. If you have issues with your dogs this trainer is for you. Absolutely brilliant. My dogs are more chilled out and are less vocal. We are looking forward to being able to take ours out in the car soon. Thank you so much for your help, couldn’t have done it without you." Janet, Honey & Heidi

Trevor

"So glad we called on Wendy to help us with our 1 year old Labrador. He's a very excitable boy when out and about and lead walking was a real challenge. However, Wendy changed that! She taught us some effective ways to calm him but she also taught us about how his brain works and why we needed to do these things! Within a week we noticed how much calmer Trevor was, to the point where we thought something was wrong with him! There obviously wasn't!! Also family and friends say they too noticed a difference. He is so much better with lead walking now, we are now armed with the knowledge and strategies to maintain this and it's all thanks to Wendy. If you are thinking about getting some help with training your dog then look no further, Wendy is amazing, and we are very grateful for her help and expertise."

Malky

"Wendy, you have been such a great help in restoring my confidence with Malky, and working with Malky to help with his anxiousness. The training sessions we had were fun, informative, interesting, and relaxed and have given me the tools to understand and connect with Malky when we are out on walks, off the leash around other dogs, and even when playing together in the garden. I would recommend you to anyone who is requiring assistance with their dog. I will continue to watch and learn from you and will make sure I continue to build on the techniques you have taught me with Malky. Thank you."

Maggie - Vicky Iles

"We had three 1-2-1 sessions with Wendy before Christmas when Maggie was around 10 weeks which was so valuable, our Christmas guest couldn’t believe how well behaved she was! In January we started the 5 week puppy classes where we learned more about distraction and training methods around other dogs. I walk Maggie off lead without a worry and she is only 5 months! Wendy’s methods really work!" Vicky & Maggie

Indy - Beth & Jamie

"Wendy is an excellent trainer, with clear knowledge and insight into dogs behaviour. The sessions were always insightful and each week showed clear progress of Indy's understanding of the activities, showing what you're taught works! Thank you Wendy!"

Rufus

"From the first to the last one-to-one lesson with Wendy, our dog learned all basic aspects of training to enable us to continue to more complex commands. We would recommend training with Jump 4 Joy as Wendy was amazing. Thanks for all the advice and support."

Ivy - Wendy

"Having had a bad experience in puppy classes with my previous dog I was reluctant to sign up for some with my current puppy. However, Wendy’s classes are friendly, to people and puppies, non-judgemental, and helpful. I have benefitted from them as has my puppy. Would certainly recommend."

Hugo - Mareille

"Wendy has a lot of knowledge and experience dealing with all different species and sizes. Hugo is a very high energy dog German shorthaired pointer x Labrador. One of the most valuable things I took from puppy training was to teach your dog to rest. All of the puppy training was fantastic and my dog took to them very well. A few years later I had to bring Wendy to our home to help me manage unwanted barking in the garden. Hugo was observed and we discovered that he was ‘protecting’ me and was patrolling the perimeter. We worked on establishing the boundaries, acknowledging his barking by checking the area but giving him signs that there was no danger. I’ve only mentioned a couple of strategies in Wendy’s portfolio, but there’s a whole lot more to learn. If you need help with your dog definitely reach out for puppy lessons to get the basics embedded firmly. If there are any other difficulties or bothersome behaviour Wendy will have a solution. Mainly by giving you the confidence to show your pup who’s boss, which is essential."

Little black puppy

"We used Wendy to instill some better behaviour in our one year old energetic Labrador puppy. Her experience, knowledge and professionalism achieved our goals very quickly in an enjoyable environment for the dog. We now have a better behaved and calmer dog. Jump4Joy highly recommended."

Bertie - Bailey Jones

"Wendy was a great dog trainer. My Labrador is one and a half and was very difficult around the house and on walks. She explained to me why he behaved the way he did and how she was tailoring her training to his needs. We have seen noticeable changes in his behaviour and find it much easier to manage his energy. She provided me with a great set of tools to deal with him and explained them very well. I couldn’t be more pleased with the training."

Marley - Maxine Carter

"Absolutely lovely to have Wendy help me with training Marley. His barking was significantly reduced after the first session. Highly recommended."

Gnasher - Lanetta Bassett

"Had three 1-to-1 sessions with Wendy after my dog was becoming more reactive and incessantly barking. Wendy instructed on simple but effective training techniques to get a better understanding and handle his behaviour. As with everything you need to put the work in with repetition but was surprised, what a difference even after the first session. We now have a quieter dog that is better behaved and I feel equipped with the correct tools to maintain. Thank you Wendy." Lanetta & Gnasher

Maeve

"Wendy has been absolutely brilliant! I was at my wits end with our dog, worrying that she would never listen or follow commands. Wendy has given us the tools to teach her and the results have been amazing. Wendy’s knowledge has been invaluable for us. Thank you so much Wendy!" Jennifer & Maeve

"Wendy's recall masterclass was a revelation With clear step-by-step instructions, I saw how we'd missed out on some vital elements in our previous training attempts.

The whole family is enjoying the training tasks set and the kids love the games to encourage consistent recall.

We look forward to seeing the final results."
